We are studying ocean ecosystem dynamics at The Department of Ocean Science (OCES), The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). What's New

2023.09.14

We published a new paper. We performed an intensive and extensive field monitoring in an experimental rice plots in 2017, and obtained eDNA-based daily time series of ecological communities. Based on time series analysis, we detected organisms influencial for rice growth under field conditions, and validated the statistical results by a field manipulation experiment in 2019. This demonstrates the potential of an ecological network-based approach for detecting organisms useful for agriculture under field conditions.
